BRIDGES AND THE STEVENS TRUCKS THAT USE THEM

The UK has some interesting bridges, some are just in interesting locations. Every country has its share of Bridges, however one of these will surprise you as it was built to cope with an earthquake. Now why should any bridge in the Uk be built to that spec, heck! we don’t have earthquakes do we?
Well, yes we do but not often, or we hope very serious, but we do have them.
Stevens Trucking has a few bases; one is the Port of Scrabster, then Wick, then Aberdeen and Glasgow I think. English Truck spotters regard Stevens as a truck to travel and see because it’s a rare bird in Southern England. Perhaps this is true but they do get down there a fair number of times, I spotted one heading north of Spaghetti junction when I was also north bound there.
If any Truck Spotter is really interested in catching a Stevens truck get in touch with me and I’ll find out when one is doing the M6 M1 route, I am sure the driver will help you with his mobile phone number and a rough approx (ball park) of times.
The Bridges on this page are on the A9 between Inverness and then along the north coast, single-track roads there chaps. See the home page with the trucks going past the loch as darkness was drawing in, that’s the north coast road, remote, quiet, with sheep and deer, pole cats, Wild Haggis are dangerous so keep your cab door shut, if you have to stop for a "you know what" be very careful.

This is The Dornoch Firth Bridge, it was the last bridge to be built on the A9 connecting Inverness with the far north, it reduced the time for this trip by 30/40 minutes for an HGV.
Oh Rrr! I can remember when there were no bridges.
