This page starts with Milestones in the UK (Britain) which are usually small stones about two feet (.6 mtr) high and are found on the roadside in the grass.
This Milestone is quite unusual and has a number of places on three of its faces. It is located in Craven Arms on the A49 in Shropshire, close to the junction by the railway bridge. I don’t suppose it gets more than a casual look in any year; most milestones dont, yet, this is an unusual and different milestone amongst milestones.
Highland Cows are interesting looking creatures. The bulls have always seemed quite nice in nature to me, however, I recall Mum Cow being removed from a field whilst dad remained chewing the cud. When he figured out that Mum was off down the road without him he decided that was not acceptable and joined her.
The gate was not open, nor were there any gaps in the fence, but, he regarded such mere human obstacles as a nuisance only, he walked through the wire posted fence at a fast walk and the strong wire simply parted with pinging noises.
Milestone in Craven Arms Shropshire A49
Its Interesting to realise that this milestone has been here from horse and cart days, yet it has distant places marked.
Only three faces are marked on this milestone.
Highland Cows on the most northern point in Scotland, which is DUNNET HEAD not John O Groats. Dunnet Head Has wonderful views, which make John O Groats seem quite mundane.
