The Farnella Fishing boat has just unloaded her cargo of fish to a number of HGV's at Scrabster Harbour on Scotland’s north coast, Mainly Stevens Transports work out of this terminal, however many Spanish and Portuguese trucks call here to collect fish and shell fish for tourists who visit the Mediterranean on holiday, now there is a surprise for many of you.
In the case of shell fish, they are transported in large baffled tanks in articulated trucks some 1000 miles or more, all temperature controlled of course.

Asda Fuel Tankers deliver fuel to all their supermarkets over the UK, for the none trucker reader it might be a thought to think that,,,, these chaps cannot afford to have an accident, this means they are very steady, thoughtful drivers, they have to be with the increased inconsideration that is on the roads today, some even from so called professional drivers. Defensive driving, anticipation, is a 100% requirement for all HGV drivers, not all people have a suitable temperament for driving.

A good HGV driver is inclined to be of a philosophic nature, in order to stay rational, the stress of being out there every day is a real thing, even if your not aware of the stress, it’s the constant demand for attention of the highest order, anything less, and an accident will follow, when 44 tons has an accident it can be a disaster.
White vans pervade the Uk roads, they are often the first and final link in the transportation chain, they are hard worked, under paid, often forced to drive long hours, no regulations protect them, except normal workplace regulations. There is a legal requirement for all drivers not to drive if they are tired or need a rest, for any or whatever reason. I regret that for an employed white van driver who feels the need for a rest and takes one, he may find him/her self out of a job, as his/her work rate will be compared with a driver who doesn’t care, drives fast, breaks speed limits, tailgates on the fast lane of motorways, and is a jack the lad of commercial driving. I have not yet ever seen a lady driver so doing. They may be sloppy in domestic driving but Jill the girl I have yet to meet.

Tankers with bare tread tyres and rusty everything else stop in a dirt gap near a dirt road, and sell fuel. You better believe it.
Oh United Kingdom residents,, you don’t know how lucky you are,,, moaning if the price of fuel goes up by a penny when some countries cant get fuel, and if they can they need a portable filter or big jets, and engine oil is supplemented with cooking oil, if they can get that, joking,,, no!
