Snow Blowers in the Far North of Scotland on the A9 main trunk road. Plus the effects of Melting snow taken in England on the A5 trunk road
The Snow blower photographs show here were taken by HGV1 Driver James Taylor, who lives near the A9 where it passes through coastal mountains. James has passed me photographs he has taken of snow for some years now, and I must credit him with the quality and atmosphere he does capture. Without a doubt he has the touch and feel required to capture that moment in time when the scene is right. Clive of Harcourt Lofts has also in the past sent some really unusual images which are in these pages, so thank you to all.
We have Rolba Snow blowers in action on the A9 between Helsmdale and Latheron, this is a part of the A9 which has a heavy ride over the mountains when the weather has snow involved,,, but the beauty here is tremendous, wild and rugged,, if you drive over the UK then don’t miss the chance to take a load to the far north in daylight hours. The road from Inverness follows the coast, often winding up mountain sides with views that are breath taking, in May the yellow colour from shrubby bushes growing all over the mountain side at low levels, demand you stop and gaze at the scene, the sun needs to play on this view of course,, but you can be alone on a well surfaced road, this wonderful scenery, being paid, what more could you ask for.
The Flooded bridge is on the old A5 south of Shrewsbury, I have included this on this page as a reminder of what happens when the snow melts.
