Scania Trucks new in 2004 with long line body

You have arrived on www.transportcafe.co.uk in the photo gallery section. There are many pages on the photo gallery list with Scania photos, many, much better than this page. The list page link is at the page bottom.

Scania Trucks have taken over this page it seems, as we have their latest offerings in prime movers or tractor units, also the long line body , very smart,, if you look at the Tank Transporter page in the photo gallery, you will see some of the latest Scanias as June 2004

Other Scania Pages have been added with more and better photographs by the 9th May 2005, to see the others please use the link near the bottom of this page after the photographs, this takes you back to the roads and photographs in Britain list page,, the heading of the links to pages there will guide you easily to many more, and I think better Scania images or Photograhs.

You should not be kept in the dark with this lighting array, all that wattage must take a fair size of alternator to keep it supplied.

Whilst the subject of truck lights is here,,, I might mention that in the Uk generally, many HGV drivers have their dipped lights to high, I don’t like to flash a truck for badly adjusted lights, it goes against the grain, but many are badly adjusted. I assume its because of the ability to adjust them from the cab, as indeed many cars do, perhaps all these days. The load might change and cause the light angle to lift up, I cant say I am educated in modern trucks, but,,, I do notice that many are much to high, the reason may be the driver adjustment, if so it’s a bad example to set as professionals. Unless its really bad I don’t flash them, perhaps I should, but then, I cant bring myself to do it easily.

I understand the desire to set the dip up a little, as it saves changing to the main beam,, but,, if so,, I suggest that its not a good way to go. None of you need a lesson from me, so don’t get the hump,, however when you are driving your car, you are lower down to the road,, so it effects you more,, when you drive your car at night you will see what I mean.

In April 2008 the UK Commercial Vehicle motor Show is under way in Birmingham at the NEC. Our photographer will be there looking for that HGV we would all like to drive around the EU and wherever else. The EU market place has now overtaken the USA. The last 20 years has seen massive changes in HGV operation over the EU region,, so keep looking for those green HGV's.
