Although there were plenty of great trucks papped this week by Trucking’s roving snapper, this week’s winner is not the close-call situation of our last. Transport Cafe’s Truck of the Week has raced to the number one spot – leaving all others in its dust – with a hefty number of likes, shares and comments.
It was captured while approaching J26 on the northbound M1 on the 29th July, and was posted to Trucking magazine’s Facebook page on August 9th to a very welcome response.
With 1,865 likes, 14 comments and an impressive 170 shares, it was a straight run to the TOTW trophy. And, flying the flag for American transport, our winner brings Transport Cafe an international feel.
So – no more leaving you in suspense – here is our latest Transport Cafe Truck of the Week…
The vehicle is an all-wheel-drive Oshkosh Heavy Equipment Transporter (HET), which is loaded with a Mastiff Protected Patrol Vehicle (PPV). These vehicles, and the drivers, are provided under contract to the Army by FTX Logistics Ltd based at Bulford Barracks, Salisbury, Wiltshire.
The American Oshkosh replaced the previously used British Scammell Commanders.
Included in the comments were some that seemed very impressed with the Oshkosh:
And some that yearned for the old days:
So there we have it! We’ll be back next week with your favourite truck so get liking, sharing and commenting to make sure your preference makes it to the top spot.
