Directions

This very well known Transport Cafe Truck Stop Take Away is located about 100yds up the A66 road when turning off at the Scotch Corner roundabout. The roundabout is located over the top of the A1 dual carriageway after going up the slipway.
It´s possible to visit this famous Scotch Corner Transport Cafe Truck Stop and rejoin the A1 either from the north or south bounds section. Since this page was written the A66 has become a dual carriagway, at least in this area it has,, this means that if you wish to return to the A1 from this layby, you will need to travel for 1 minute up the dual carriagway and then turn in the mouth of the B6274 taking care of course,, for small vehicles (none artic) you can use the right turn and double back down the east bound side, if it is allowed, if not then a left tun into the mouth and then cross and return easterly to the A1.

At the Scotch Corner slipway Turn off, and up to the round-about, then turn onto the A66 (heading towards the M6 at Penrith) then 100 yds on the near side pull into the 200yd long lay-by which runs back away from the road.
