The Skiach Services Transport Cafe is located on the A9 25 miles north of Inverness. After crossing the Kessock bridge at Inverness you follow the A9 over the Black Isle, then across the Cromarty Firth bridge, where the A9 continues north to the B9176 (this used to be the A836 on older maps), turn off at this slipway where the Skiach Services is clearly visible on your near side in less than 100 yds. Go PAST the service station with your HGV for about another 100yards then turn left into HGV entrance for parking and fuel.
Dont be confused by any earlier services signs on the A9 a few miles before this B9176 turn.
A new lorry park has been constructed here. TV reception is excellent from your cab if you have a portable TV, as is cell phone coverage.
This transport Cafe has been operating for more than 30 years offering good service to HGV and travellers. It's often a welcome sight on a winters day for truckers/drivers going north and south, a dependable haven in the mountains.

Skiach Lorry Park

THe Skiach Lorry Park offers FREE parking for all HGV's.

If you are a new visitor (HGV) as you round the bend to the Skiach you will be faced by a sign that says NO HGV in big letters. It does not mean what it says! what it should say is simply "Car Entrance". A new HGV on arrival seeing this may well think that HGV's are NOT WELCOME at this service station. The fact that the car entrance is large and this board is very very prominent almost demanding that you heed it, suggesting it is making an announcement for the Skiach Services and not just saying, please hgv don't use this entrance. The fact that there is another sign (not as large letters) across the way sign saying hgv entrance thata way is by the way. Its like proof reading a book, if your involved in it you cant see the faults.
