Rolba SnowBlowers and Snow ploughs, photographs were taken in the Alps in Austria by GREGORY HOLLIDAY, the Rolba Engineer who was based in London, now retired and lives in the London area.
My mind is drawn to a Ham Radio station which is/was in the Artic circle, operated by the Royal Canadian Signals, this was an Early Warning Station during the cold war. It was the closest habitation to the North Pole, a dashed cold place. It's call sign was VE8RCS which = Victor Echo 8 Romeo Charlie Sierra.
Radio Hams who operated this most far northern outpost changed the phonetics whilst on air to two different versions.

I have spoken to them on a number of occasions and had some interesting conversations; my own call is GM0EXN for those who might wonder. It was all the snowblowers, snow ploughs and ice that brought this memory back to me.
