Symonds Yat Transport Cafe A40 & A449 Monmouth
CLOSED WESTBOUND & EASTBOUND IS NOW MOTORWAY SERVICES TYPE.
Symonds Yat Transport Cafes & Truck Stops WERE located on the A40 A449 dual carriageway on the east side of Monmouth.
It is with great regret that these two Transport cafes have ceased to exist. They did in their early stages provide good food and were well needed by professional drivers and members of the public who appreciate the good service that Transport Cafes provide.
The west bound operation including garage (fuel) has been bulldozed into the ground, and this had great promise for the future,, so it is with regret that I have to tell all readers this information.
The Eastbound Food operation is NOT FOR HGV DRIVERS IN MY OPINION, but a large park is provided and can be used for overnight. Food is provided here but its services type food,, which I personally would not avail myself of! There is a Lorry Park on the A40 at Monmouth on the roundabout,,, I suggest if you stop here, have your own food and drink.
This is the west bound approach showing entrance and fual facilities, Fuel is available on both carriageways.

This is the cabin type Transport Cafe on the east bound side. I am told it is being replaced.
This is the spacious HGV park on a Sunday. Both these operations are on a curving bend, curving offside eastbound, curving nearside westbound.
Quite a few lorries here, I called in here on a week day which is why biz is being done on this side of the road.
