The Toll Gate (Tollgate) Transport Cafe Snack Bar west of Llangollen was first operational in 2001, during the period to October 2007 it has given good service with first class food.It is located 3 miles west of Llangollen on the near side with a long lay-by in front and going past its building. Also on the southbound side another very long lay-by offers good parking for the both HGV and White Van Man etc. Its a must Stop for anyone who wants a decent meal break in take away style, or in decent weather outside seating is available. I had a first class egg & Bacon bread bap, great bacon, quality ingredients complimented by the nicely done egg. Vegetarian items and salads are available, also snacky stuff for the children. Nice tea and coffee in a good mug. Everyone should call in and not miss this Gem of a stop if they have a mind for a break and something to eat.

New Owners September 2007 and still EXCELLENT food & sparkling clean operation for an en-route stop,, don’t miss this sit outside takeaway,,, HGV, Tractor Drivers, bikers love it, families love it, caravaners love it,, toilets available,,, not really able to handle coaches unless its driver only.
Good hours of service they do as well, 7 days a week through the year. They have been in operation since 2001. I then travelled the route from Shrewsbury to Llandudno via Llangollen on Saturday and Sunday, this was the only establishment then open on the route on both occasions.
This establishment was checked again in late July 2002 on a Saturday afternoon, its still going strong. Checked again in May ending 2003, (& 2005) still going well and seems popular. Times update September 2007..
