We have some HGV and small MPV on this page plus other cars which were at the 2004 Birmingham motor Show.
I have become quite drawn to these small People carriers like the Renault Kangoo and Berlingo or Peugeot Partner diesel versions. So I have shown the Citroen version and other small cars. They are unpretentious vehicles, as a result they are not bought by snobs as 4 wheel drives are,,, the diesel versions with the new common rail diesel engine are the ones to go for. Smooth, quiet, very economical. The small cars with a diesel engine are just fantastic, smooth ride,
As an example the Citroen C2 will return 78.5 MPG when driven out of town, just hold the speed down to 55 or 60 MPH, don’t accelerate quickly, anticipate the need to stop and slow without the use of brakes or changing down gears as is reasonably possible,,, when starting off from a stop get into the highest gear ASAP without labouring the engine, and here is a must,,,, YOU MUST DRIVE A DIESEL DIFFERENTLY TO A PETROL ENGINE,,, lower revs for your speed, it does take an effort at first, but its soon mastered,,, and your cash seems to last forever,,, you can laugh all the way to the bank.
I have to admit an aversion to 4 wheel drives,,, I exclude those who drive in the country and really need them for those winter roads,, I regret most need them as much as an HGV driver needs a flea bitten camel in the cab with him/her. There will be the exception who just loves the style like a classic lover,, but then we have the pretentious people who think that they need a 7ft Iron Gate with curled ironwork with a 4 wheel drive parked behind it just, squeezed in on a semi with a car park that needs all the garden for one vehicle, oh! And the 4 wheel drive is just for school and local shop trips.
Fuel prices rise and they complain,,, as do those petrol engined folks with thirsty 0 to 60 in 7 seconds,, well 9 then,,, and that chap on the TV encourages viewers to think that its good if its quick,,, and who would be seen dead in a car like a van,, personally I think its sad, a society with to many weak minded people, gullible, gota buy a brand that’s on the TV.
Have you been into the supermarket cafes, seen parents with their kids, who shout, bang around and make a general noise, and the parents do nothing,,, whilst other diners sit in the noise,,, the same kids walk aside their parents down pathways, and expect others approaching to move off the path,,, in fact they don’t even notice other path users,,, then they get older and become inconsiderate, errr! I mean they become old inconsiderates, as they have been trained to be by their parents. They pass their driving test and guess what they drive like,,, up the middle of the motorway, or unaware of others around them,, they don’t care, don’t look, live in a separate world. God help us all! Where is my bike, or am I on it?
