Chris Bennet of Wilmslow en route from Cheshire with HGV Driver Peter, bound for Luton Airport with 110 tons of cargo. This requires an escort due to its multi wheel load and weight,, rear trailer steering wheels, shown here on the M54 services at Telford. They are about to proceed down the M54 to junction One,, where they have to turn off because the load is to heavy for the M6, so its around Wolverhampton and the route is planned by the escort vehicle. He has to keep those cars from cutting him up at roundabouts. I notice these days that cars will overtake on roundabouts very often not appreciating the golden rule of right of way, the first on the roundabout, not the fastest and last. Younger drivers with no discipline,, shoot traffic lights, cut across right of way traffic at junctions with impunity causing multi accidents to innocent cars proceeding correctly,,, if you’re an HGV driver in that line watch out,,, if you leave a gap a car will drop into your safety zone and you end up going backwards,, it’s a hell of a job, you all take care out there,,, grit yer teeth and hope something evil happens to those that do it, then the roads will be a little better.

Sean Ryan another Irish HGV en route for the EU region, followed by Cadbury the chocky people en route between the EU region and Northern Shropshire, nice clean vehicle, well its not raining and the bad weather has not arrived yet.

Jacks Hill Transport Café on the A1 near Baldock. I can here you all thinking that’s wrong,,, well its not,,, This is Jacks Hill Transport Cafe in about 1949 1953 period and it is located on the old A1 just north of Baldock. A sergeant photographer friend of mine from yesteryear supplied me with this photograph he took while flying over it so long ago, notice the old cars and the Lin Can Wagon pulling out of the lorry park to head north on the A1. Times have changed, roads have changed, trucks have changed, even some of the words we now use to describe them,,, it was Lorries or Wagons not Trucks.

Then we have a racing team from the Uk,,, they required an HGV driver,, and so they wrote to us at Transport Café.co.uk and a driver was located via a friend of hours guard fame. The had a good trip as you can see, and the driver is now a part of the racing team.

The Flotta Lass Kirkwall was en route to ,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Flotta by Kirkwall,, shown here negotiating a low bridge,,, If the driver of the HGV sees this photo, please contact me so that I can credit him with this photograph.
