Road King: New Hollies Transport Cafe History

The New Hollies Transport Cafe has been serving drivers since World War II. Gregory Peck - the famous actor - dined here in 1950.

Records show this was operating as a cafe for travellers before 1933, possibly making this the transport cafe in the UK with the longest contuinuous service.

I'm not a trucker but we stop here every time we go up to Scotland for the rugby. Lovely little place, especially after all the refurbishments there. Nice food, clean and a reasonable price too (far better than the services on the M6!). Highly recommended!

Quoting v maxted:
ohh dear ! stayed and paid £19.00 on Wednesday 17th December. Are you people serious about providing hard working drivers a quality service and provision ? summary:
Parked and card out 17:00 hours. 2 x mc bunnies vehicles did a changeover at 03.00 hours and travelled the full site to meet each other.

If you had a nine hour break how did you notice the changeover at 3 am?

Paid including meal by 17:45
The meal I would grade at 5 from 10 and the pork chop had clearly been kept warm for a very long time , it was so hard and tasteless. Very poor but the veg was ok.
As for parking, on the unmade main parking area be very careful getting out of your vehicle unless you want to land in 6 inches of water.
Following this great start to a nights rest 2 x mc bunnies vehicles did a changeover at 03.00 hours and travelled the full site to meet each other. Following my 9 hour legal break I left the site and trust me will not bother you again voted with feet rubbish at worst level goodbye,
Quite happy to speak with someone from your company should you wish to do so.

Nice to see somebody investing in driver facilities.
Ask Fred Done when will he be opening a truck
stop in Trafford Park which is badly needed.
Come on Fred invest in your home town.
