Renault Trucks has unveiled its latest chassis aimed at construction. Dubbed C and K, testing included logging work in Cameroon, hauling 120-tonne loads in Oman and heavy mine work in Turkey.
Launched earlier, T denotes Renault’s long-distance chassis, while C is for construction and K heavy construction. The C-range is the replacement for the Lander (extended to include greater specification and variety of chassis options), while K-range is the replacement for its impressive heavy-duty Kerax.
The C-range comes with two cab width options: 2.3 m and 2.5 m. Both are reputed to have the same levels of comfort as its trucks designed for long-distance work.
On the inside Renault has opted to use a greater number of rotating button controls, rather than protruding switches, to increase comfort and ergonomics.
There’s reinforced protection for all exposed parts of the cab, and a step on the side of the cab/top of the mudguard outside the driver’s side door allows them to step out of the cab and onto this to check their load.
