Isuzu is just perfect for Robinsons' dray fleet
The first Isuzu to join the Robinsons dray fleet is working on two extremes of distribution for the Stockport-based brewers.
The Isuzu N75.190 is working both locally and regionally, handling deliveries of Robinsons’ ‘Dizzy Blonde’ cask beer, and other company products, to remote pubs in the Lake District and Cumbria, whilst also making journeys to tenanted and managed pubs within Manchester city centre, where commercial vehicle access is equally as limited.
Specified with a 4.2m curtainsided PPS Commercials body, the truck was chosen for its ability to carry maximum payload as well as its ability to access some of the pubs where delivery space is tight.
Mathew Heath, Logistics Manager at Robinsons, said: “We operate on two specific routes where we have difficulty delivering with existing vehicles. The addition of the Isuzu has eradicated these problems overnight. In Cumbria, we used to operate a two vehicle delivery service to certain remote locations, however the Isuzu can do the job of both these vehicles making this particular operation far more efficient.
“At the same time, city centre pubs in Manchester always prove difficult but again the Isuzu has given us a more flexible and efficient delivery service to these customers.”
As Matthew explains: “The manoeuvrability of the Isuzu has certainly helped our draymen provide a more efficient service to these difficult locations however the drivers have commented about the overall performance of the Isuzu, saying that it is a really good vehicle to drive and has plenty of power so that it doesn’t struggle on the hills within Cumbria and the South Lakes.”
Supplied by local dealer Warrington Vehicle Centre, the N75.190 is based in Bredbury, near Stockport, and is anticipated to have a seven year working life, covering up to 30,000 miles per annum. The vehicle has also been supplied with a full seven year R&M contract, with WVC undertaking all service work at weekends to fit in with delivery schedules.
