Leeds Bronze Engineering has taken delivery of its first Volvo truck – a new FL5.210 rigid, powered by a four-cylinder Euro 6 D5K engine producing 210hp and a maximum 800Nm of torque between 1,100 and 1,700rpm.
Supplied by Crossroads Truck and Bus Limited, the 12- tonne 4×2 day-cab rigid was delivered on a three-year contract hire deal and the truck’s specification also includes a six-speed manual gearbox. Leeds Bronze Engineering opted for an 18-foot drop side body, which was manufactured by Micra Truck Bodies of Wakefield.
The new FL replaces two previous vehicles: a 7.5-tonne truck and a one-tonne van. Ryan Landale, Buyer at Leeds Bronze, said: “Our new 12-tonner should bring some operating efficiencies and I’m really impressed with the vehicle. We rarely run at maximum weight at the moment, but the new 12-tonner brings increased flexibility levels to our business, which fits in perfectly with our development plans.”
The truck, which will be used for local deliveries to the Midlands and surrounding shires, comes with a comprehensive Volvo Gold Service Contract.
Ryan adds:“Specifying our new FL was straightforward and our driver is ‘over the moon’ with it. He’s also pleased with the interior packages.”
