This week was such a close call that we feel it’s only right to announce our winner and also give an honourable mention to the runner up!
Both were posted by Trucking magazine’s roving snapper on July 29th to a huge number of likes, shares and comments from the Trucking Facebook community.
Our winner, who was papped on the southbound M1 near Trowell Services on the 29th, received an impressive 1,354 likes and 103 shares along with four comments. And our runner up was snapped driving along the same road but on July 21st, narrowly pipped to the post with 1,334 likes, 102 shares and six comments.
It was neck and neck until the very end, but here is the Transport Cafe Truck of the Week and our runner up!
TOTW Runner Up
This is a new Mercedes Arocs 3240 eight-wheel tipper with Thompson’s body, kitted out with smart alloy wheels and still in Mercedes grey paint – though the reflective tape adds a splash of colour along the vehicle’s side.
Our victor is a Scania R620 Streamline belonging to the Murphy Brothers Plant, Co Roscommon, Ireland but with UK registration plates this truck could be registered at their depot in Birmingham. The Scania is notable for having top and bottom lightbars, and a cat-themed swirly design on the cab-side.
The load is a CAT 327D tracked excavator.
