The Dover Truck Park is about three miles from the busy port and is popular for drivers waiting for their sailings or needing a break after docking. It offers a range of facilities and amenities for drivers.

The full breakfast is £5 and gives bacon, eggs, sausage, hash brown, toast, baked beans or tomatoes, and is served with tea of coffee. There is also the ‘Breakfast Deal 2’ which is £6 and that gives you two eggs, two rashers of bacon, a sausage, hash brown, toast, beans or tomatoes and a tea or coffee.
There is the option to build your own breakfast. Each item is 90p and you can choose from egg, bacon, sausage, hash brown, beans, tomatoes, black pudding and mushrooms, so you can have what you want in the quantities you want. Toast, fried bread and bread and butter is 50p for two slices.
A bowl of cereal is £1.95 while beans, tomatoes or two eggs on toast are all £2.75.

Main meals
An 8oz rump steak is £8.95 while a mixed grill – sausage, gammon, lamb chop, beef steak, liver and pork steak, is £9.95. Half a rack of ribs is £7.99 while an 8oz Gammon steak is £7.50. A quarter roast chicken is £6.99. Sauces include peppercorn sauce, garlic butter and barbeque sauce for £1.50.
Fish, chips and peas or salad is £6.99 while for £5.99 are cottage pie, chips and two vegetables, liver and bacon, onion gravy with chips or mashed potatoes, chilli con carne with rice and lasagne with garlic bread.
Jacket potatoes start at £3.20 and there is a choice of fillings such as cheese (£3.50), tuna mayo (£4.25), coleslaw (£3.50) or beans (£3.50) and chilli (£4.50), while both cheese and beans together is £4.25.
Omelettes are served with chips and a side salad and are plain at £4.70 or with cheese or ham for £5 each, extra items – such as mushrooms, ham and cheese are 90p each. There is also a chef’s dish of the day – ask for details.

Light meals
As expected, there are a range of lighter meals available throughout the day. They include two sausages, ham or two rashers of bacon with egg, chips and beans for £5.
Soup of the day with a bread roll is £2. It was mushroom soup onto the day of our visit.
A quarter-pounder beef burger, with or without cheese or an egg are all priced at £5.99. You can add an extra burger for £1. Adding bacon, onions or salad will add an extra 90p each to the bill.
They also do take away burgers – beef or cheese – for £4 and £4.30 respectively. You can also add extras to your meal – chips are £1.50, cheesy chips are £2.50, side salad (£1), rice (£1.20), onion rings (£1.60), garlic bread (£1.80) and cheesy garlic bread (£2.30) while onions, gravy or two vegetables are all 90p extra.
The Dover Truckstop also make sandwiches, paninis and subs – ask the staff for details on what is on offer during your visit.

Desserts and drinks
The desserts on offer – all £2.99 – were treacle sponge, strawberry jam sponge, chocolate sponge, spotted dick and sticky toffee pudding with butterscotch. All are served with custard, cream or ice cream.
Milk shakes are £1.60 while a carton of juice, a bottle of water or a can of pop are all £1 each. There is also a range of sweets, crisps, chocolate bars and fruit.

The truckstop is open 24/7 but the café is only open from 0600-2300, Mondays to Saturdays and 0800-2200 on Sundays. There is room to park about 100 trucks. Laundry facilities are available.
There are Showers, and big screen TV – which shows Sky Sports. The site includes a fully stocked and licensed bar and there are outside dining areas as well. The staff can also provide you with a takeaway meal service or a packed lunch.
Security is good with CCTV, a Security Guard and secure site fencing and the site, Dover’s only ‘secure truck park’, is approved and accredited by LABEL (4 x Lock), ESPORG, PACT and several other commercial organisations.
The facility is enclosed by three-metre high security fencing, with a secure metre tall concrete bund-wall on the inside. The perimeter is protected by state-of the-art alarms, combined with PTZ cameras that can detect and zoom in on any attempted security breach.
Careful positioning of the ‘white light’ floodlighting gives illumination for security but does not disturb the drivers sleeping in their trucks.
All entrances and exits are controlled and monitored with the entrance and exit barriers fitted with a security curtain and skirt lattice to prevent unauthorised ingress or egress.
Strategically placed CCTV cameras monitor security with non-event recordings kept for at least 31 days.
ANPR cameras are in place to facilitate easy access and speed up the exit for authorised and approved vehicles. Regular security patrols by site staff reinforce the emphasis on security.
Dover Truck Park also offers a range of value-added services including transhipping, handling facilities available including forklift trucks and a 1,500sqm warehouse for storage.
Parking for up to 90 minutes is free of charge and parking between 90 minutes and 24 hours is £28 which also gives you a £6 meal voucher. Arrivals after 0900 and departing same day before 1800 are charged at £1 per hour.
The weekend special rate for Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays is £28 per 24 hours and you get two £5 meal vouchers. Payment is accepted in Pounds or Euros by cash, debit or credit cards. Credit account facilities are available for regular fleet customers.
