This is the first privately promoted Motorway Service Area to be built and opened in Ireland. It is also the only motorway service area that can be accessed from both sides of the motorway, both north and southbound, as it is situated at a full junction.
Junction 14 Mayfield will provide 24 hour fuel and toilet facilities. The service point has 12 car and van fuel filling points for quick fuelling. The dedicated truck fuelling area can fuel four trucks at any one time with a high speed fuelling pump system. This is supported by dedicated AdBlue pumps on the forecourt for truckers.
Junction 14 Mayfield will provide an ESB eCars electric car charging facility for up to four cars at one time. This system has scope for expansion as this new clean mode of transport becomes more popular.
The new Junction 14 Mayfield provides for up to 120 car parking spaces, 25 dedicated truck parking spaces and five dedicated bus parking areas. There is an extensive restaurant seating area as well as an outdoor seating and picnic area for families. The service area has been designed on a green field site for ease of access from the M7 Motorway and for safe parking.
Junction 14 Mayfield on the M7 Motorway will employ upwards of 50 people to provide a 24 hour service for users of the country’s busiest motorway.
