Cambridgeshire’s Kate’s Cabin truck stop, on the A1 Northbound near Peterborough, has thrown out a challenge to UK truckers and the residents of Peterborough and surrounding Cambridgeshire.
“A large all-day breakfast has always been part of the trucking culture, so I decided to go one step further and came up with the idea of a super-sized breakfast that would challenge even the hungriest person,” said Kate’s Cabin manager, Liam Levett.
“Inspired by Man vs Food, I have named it the ‘Kate’s Cabin Belly Busting Breakfast Challenge’.”
The gargantuan meal consists of six sausages, six rashers of bacon, six hash browns, six eggs, four slices bread and butter, four slices fried bread, four pieces of black pudding, a portion of mushrooms, a portion of baked beans, a portion of tomatoes – and to top it all off, a portion of chips.
“The belly-busting breakfast costs £20 and if you can finish it within 30 minutes, you get your £20 back and another £20 – so it’s definitely worth giving it a go,” Levett said.
A wall of fame has been created at end of the café so a before and after photograph of the challenger can be displayed for all to see.
Kate’s Cabin is open from 6am to 10pm Monday to Friday, and Saturday 8am to 2pm and can be contacted on 01733 394670.
